Go LPG! Chrysler Grand Voyager 3.3 Litre V6

A nice spacious people carrier, good value but heavy on fuel and therefore expensive to run.

The conversion of this vehicle is not an easy one.

The Voyager looks like it will carry a good sized underslung spare wheel tank but it only has a narrow 'space saver' spare wheel which will not allow a larger size underslung tank to be fitted. A 79 litre tank (actual capacity 63 litres) will fit in the spare wheel space.

To fit this tank the exhaust mounting must be modified.

The owner of this car wanted more range than 73 litres would give, so we fitted a 90 litre cylinder in the load space.

There isn't any opportunity to fit the filler in the rear bumper.

This rear wing site is practically all that is available.

Things don't get any easier when looking for somewhere to mount the fuel choice switch.

We made a bracket to fit it in the map pocket.

All in all, not a straightforward conversion by any means, although the end result is worth all the effort. This vehicle now has half of the fuel cost of petrol whilst it offers a similar range.

The owner of this particular Voyager is still surprised at how much money he saves every time he fills the LPG tank.
