Pride and Joy Pride (left) is a Kingfisher blue XJ 40 Sovereign with impeccable pedigree. The car has be converted to run on LPG and gives 220 enjoyable miles round town on just 23 worth of fuel. Go LPG! offer a range of conversion options for all Jaguar 3.4, 4.2, 2.9, 3.6, 5.3, 4.0 and 6.0 litre cars. Joy is a 1998 XJ8 4.0 in Anthracite. It's aptly captioned, it certainly is a joy to drive! We are currently investigating all equipment options for its LPG conversion. At the 'front end' will be a multi-point gas injection system. At the rear, various LPG and Petrol tank size and position options will be tested. Go LPG! will be offering various dual fuel packages for V8's (3.2, 4.0 and Supercharged models) very soon.

The AJ6 and AJ16 engines.......
Go LPG are constantly pushing the boundaries in the field of LPG conversion. A 3 month programme of work with the AJ6 and AJ16 engine (all variants, 2.9, 3.6, 4.0 as fitted to XJS, XJ40 and X300) has resulted in our own specific mixer design being created for this engine. Performance is now indistinguishable from petrol operation (tests show only 2% loss at 4000 rpm) and not one single backfire has occurred. Acceleration from rest (idle RPM) is as smooth and rapid as it is with petrol.
We have decided not to provide details or pictures of our new items as we have a lot of time and money invested in them and are sure that you'll understand that - But we will give you the benefit of these important new developments at the same cost as previous conversions (and those of our competitors!)
This car has been fitted with a 90 litre cylinder, but this time it is 400mm in diameter and only 800mm long. The shorter tank was required to fit inside the boot hinges (slightly narrower spacing than the XJ 40). The high tank mounting allows the spare wheel to stay in position. Access to the spare, jack and battery remains as standard.
A Golf bag will still lie across this boot!
The series 3 boot has a very useful area for mounting a 70 litre tank. It is the space taken up by the petrol tank in later cars (XJ40, X300 and 308) but unused in the series 3 as the petrol tanks were placed in the rear wings.
