The AJ6 and AJ16 engines.......
Go LPG are constantly pushing the boundaries in the field of LPG conversion. A 3 month programme of work with the AJ6 and AJ16 engine (all variants, 2.9, 3.6, 4.0 as fitted to XJS, XJ40 and X300) has resulted in our own specific mixer design being created for this engine. Performance is now indistinguishable from petrol operation (tests show only 2% loss at 4000 rpm) and not one single backfire has occurred. Acceleration from rest (idle RPM) is as smooth and rapid as it is with petrol.
We have decided not to provide details or pictures of our new items as we have a lot of time and money invested in them and are sure that you'll understand that - But we will give you the benefit of these important new developments at the same cost as previous conversions (and those of our competitors!)
The 5.3 and 6.0 V12 engines
Carrying on this line of development we have just completed a new mixer and air inlet design for the mighty V12. JEC member Peter Davies's 1991 XJS has received the Go LPG treatment. Performance is every bit as good as with petrol and we hope to get the fuel endurance/economy figures for it very soon. Thanks for the business Pete, we wish you well with the conversion and hope you save a fortune!
The X 308 V8 3.2 & 4.0 engines
At time of writing ( 2/ 5/ 02 ) Go LPG are just about to unveil the new multi - point gas injection conversion, fitted to Steve's 4.0 car. This has not been just a question of obtaining suitable equipment (which has been difficult) but a significant amount of time has been spent on important details such as -
Siting and fitting of the key components, with special attention being paid to weather protection of the electronics, pipe runs and tank mounting points, filler placing and finally, something that is lacking in the conversion industry at present - Invisibilty of the conversion equipment when installed. The underbonnet of the X 308 has been so well styled that the car is a work of art even with the bonnet open. We'd like to keep it that way!
Pictures will follow in the next few days......!
