Omega V6 'W' reg'd Omega 3.0 V6. A very cheaply obtained family car with a reasonable level of equipment. The model is quite popular with taxi drivers. It'll be a lot cheaper to run on LPG...... The converted Omega's performance on LPG is as good as it is on petrol. It is hard to tell which fuel the engine is running on. Only the day to day thickness of the owner's wallet gives a clue..... Here are some pictures of a converted Omega V6 The 70 litre cylinder tank fits like it was made for the car. The remaining boot space is unaffected whilst the tank holds 56 litres (12.3 imp. gals) of nice cheap LPG. This car had a towbar which gave an ideal poistion for a nice easy to reach LPG filler point. The Omega V6's are notoriously 'tight' under the bonnet and are difficult to convert as a result. LPG reducer and associated pipework are mounted on the nearside inner wing. The inlet manifold has to be removed for machining and fitting of the elonlgated gas injector pipes (commonly called 'Straws') The Omega dashboard doesn't have any good opportunities for fuel choice switch mounting so we chose to fit it in the coin pocket section of the centre console. This proved to be a good choice as it is easily reached but not distracting. Your Omega V6........ Pricing - The Omega V6 conversion is quite specialised. You won't find many firms offering to do it, and even less getting it right. We have converted several similar cars and have all the data recorded to do more. Romano 'N' system multi point sequential gas injection equipment is installed, fed by a 70 litre cylinder tank. None of the equipment we fit is the cheapest, and we make no apology for that. Quality is remembered long after the price. The reasoning behind our choice of conversion equipment is fully explained in the item 'What type of conversion is best for my car?' Owners report savings in fuel cost of at least 50%, some above that if driven carefully. It is very hard to tell when the car is running on gas as performance is practically identical to that of Petrol. The conversion takes 5 days to complete (including up to 100 miles of fuel mapping and road testing) at a cost of �1850 fully inclusive. NOTE that after problems with Omega ignition coils breaking down after conversion (due to their poor quality and inability to handle the slightly increased load placed on them by LPG operation) we only convert cars that have had a NEW COIL PACK fitted in the preceeding 28 days and accept NO liability for any subsequent coil failure. We give 12 months parts and labour warranty and issue an insurance certificate with every conversion.
